Leave The World A Better Place!

Thank you to all who have visited my blog and especially to you who have left comments. I apologize for being away from my blog while I have been preoccupied with my granddaughter’s welfare.
We are called to leave the world a better place than it was when we arrived. In some way we can each impact the world in a positive way to leave it a better place than we found it. In no way can we cure all of the world’s problems, well, at least I do not believe I can solve all of the world’s problems, but we can have a positive impact.
As an internet marketer there are several things you can do every day to improve our world. Daily actions that benefit those with whom we do business and those who observe how we do business. Daily actions in both your personal and your business lives that can affect the world for generations. Daily actions that can increase your bank account and affect the world in a positive way.
The first action is to conduct business with integrity. I love internet marketing; it is profitable and confounding at the same time. Confounding because we have so much good to offer the world but our message does not reach all who could benefit from our business; profitable because when we say the “magic word” (whatever we have said that reaches a new customer or business partner) we get money deposited into our bank accounts. Unfortunately, there are too many evil people who are gifted at reaching out to people and collect the cash but never deliver on the promise. This destroys the wonder and power of the ‘net; it creates a world of cynics who will never obtain all the benefits the internet has to offer because they have been harmed. It is a lousy feeling to trust someone enough to give your credit card information and then get screwed by not receiving what you paid for…and not have any way of contacting the creep who took your money!
Been there? I have and it is a bitter pill to swallow. Be honest with your product, service and opportunity. There will always be hypebole in advertising, in my college advertising class the instructor called it “puffing”, but there must be an element of truth and you must stand behind your offer. We make the internet a viable marketplace by our actions. I wish I could eliminate the evil in the world; since I cannot I must populate the internet with “attaboys” to make up for the “oh s___s” others create.
My mentor, a very wealthy man who passed away in the mid-80s, told me that in working with money it would take at least 3 “attaboys” to make up for one mistake. The ratio is probably higher when dealing with trust of others.
The second action is to market a product or service that you really believe will help people. I know the four areas which I believe in my heart-of-hearts I can be of benefit to others. That is what I offer to people. How can you help? Know yourself, love others, become wealthy. Seems like a simple formula.
The third action, I list this one because I have a BA in Economics, is to learn why capitalism really works. Learn how we each “create wealth” when we do business. How does everyone benefit when a product or service is exchanged for money? Does everyone really benefit? (The answer better be yes!) Capitalism is not a “zero sum game” so when you generate a profit it is not at someone else’s expense. Everyone gains, everyone is better off than before the transaction. I really wish the economics of capitalism was taught in schools rather than the politics of capitalism.
Finally, love those with whom you interact with a pure and perfect love. Our time on earth is so fleeting; a poet wrote (my apologies if I don’t have the quote exact) ” I shall walk this way but once, therefore, whatever good I will do I must do now for I will never walk this way again.” As an internet marketer you have the opportunity to positively impact someone’s life, maybe to even change their financial destiny for all time. Do not squander the opportunity.
The passing of my first wife was a painful way to learn that this moment may be your last; when I went to work the day of her anurysm I never dreamed I would not see her alive again. In your heart, love all with whom you interact.
Let our actions create a world of trust, let our trust create a world of opportunity, let our opportunity create a better world tomorrow than the world to which we woke today.
